Working with Kelly to build her a website for her latest book, ‘The Deeside Way – A Companion Guide‘, has been a fantastic experience. From our initial brainstorming session over coffee to the launch of the website, the whole process has been a pleasure to collaborate with Kelly and bring her vision to life.
The Deeside Way is a beautiful walking route that runs through the heart of Royal Deeside in Scotland, and Kelly’s book is a wonderful companion guide for anyone planning to explore the area. Our goal for the website was to create a digital extension of the book, providing additional information, resources, and inspiration for those planning to walk the route.
The book features beautiful photography, a relaxing colour palette and we wanted to ensure that these elements were reflected in the website design. We also needed to ensure the website was easy to navigate with a clean and simple layout to made it easy for users to find the information they needed.
We started with a brainstorming session over coffee, from there various ideas started flowing such as information about the routes, blogging ideas, and how to purchase the book online. We also looked at the different types of visitors the website would attract.
From there I began the design process and came up with a design which compliments the colours and images from the book. I also worked on the layout ensuring the website was easy to navigate and the information was presented in a clear and concise way.
The end result is a website that perfectly complements the book and provides a valuable resource for anyone planning to explore The Deeside Way. I’m also chuffed with all the positive feedback I’ve received from Kelly and people visiting the website.
