If you stop moving there’s consequences, don’t shout out an answer there’s consequences, move two slowly, yeah you guessed it there’s consequences and boy did the group get a few of those.
A few of you may have seen on twitter that I have been attending a fitness Boot Camp and back in December I’d seen a poster advertising it starting in January. “New Year… New You…”
Most of my working week is pretty much sitting down in front of the PC for long periods and if I’m not in front of the PC you can bet I’m meeting with clients eating scones. Cherry is my favourite in case any of you wish to buy me one… When I moved into the new hedley HQ my plan was to cycle to the office every second day, a year on and I still haven’t done that. (Having the car is way too convenient).
After seeing the poster I decided 2014 was the year, the year I was going to do things for myself and improve my overall fitness, tone up and more importantly lose the body fat. I logged onto Facebook, (yeah you did read that right) and contacted Wright Fitness, before I knew it I was meeting up with Helen for my initial consultation. Now it was just a case of waiting till the New Year to start Boot Camp.
The 6th of January arrived and if I am going to be honest I was a bit apprehensive as I had no clue on what to expect or would I even enjoy it. The time came, got my gym stuff on, water bottle filled, quick dash to the lavatory and I was ready. Let’s do this….
I met up with the rest of the Boot campers and I instantly felt at ease, everyone there was in the same boat, whether it was too lose fat, tone up or get fit. The session started with a gentle warm up and I felt pretty good until Helen gave us a fitness test, this test would also be done again at the end of Boot Camp to see if we have improved. I had it in my head that I was pretty fit, aye stamina wise but after completing the test, man I realised I wasn’t… I don’t think I’ve ever drank so much water in a short space of time. The next day my legs were sore, wow I definitely felt like I had worked out. I could hardly walk and that’s no exaggeration. My body was getting the wakeup call it needed. I’m on the road to fitness…
By the end of the first week I felt great and my body was adapting the body shock that Helen and Graeme was putting us through. The class it’s self was great fun and the banter / laughter we managed to have just made it even more enjoyable. I was finding that I couldn’t wait to the next session to see what was in store.
Over the course of Boot Camp the thing that I discovered about Wright Fitness is that the genuinely want to help you achieve your goals, some fitness classes out there you turn up, exercise then go home. At Wright Fitness they will sit with you and give you eating / nutrition advice and if you have kept a food diary even better as they will advise you where you may be going wrong. My downfall is scones and too many home bakes.
I have now had two months of Boot Camp sessions with Wright Fitness and I can honestly say that I have enjoyed it right from day one. My overall fitness has improved dramatically and on my first fitness test I managed to score 14 sets over a 12 minute period, and by the end of the first month, doing the same test I scored 17. Month two and a different fitness test I managed to PB by four seconds.
If you are thinking of joining a class, get fit, have fun and lose body fat then I can whole heartily recommend Wright Fitness. They do their up most to help you achieve your goals. Their classes are enjoyable and the laughter you will share with the group is brilliant.
Go on don’t do it for tomorrow… Do it for today….
